Keith W. Nagy, director of filament for the United States and Canada, and head of the Global Filament Focus Team at Celanese Acetate, recently received the prestigious NCCJ Retail, Fashion and Textile Industry Leadership Award in New York City. Two hundred fifty Textile, Apparel and Fashion leaders, including the nation’s top retailers, attended the luncheon event honoring Nagy.
In presenting the award to Nagy, Bruce Roberts, director of the Textile Distributors Association, lauded Nagy for being a well known and highly respected executive in the textile and apparel industry, and noted especially Nagy’s leadership in activities promoting Celanese acetate fiber to global apparel manufacturers and retailers.
The co-honoree was Russell Simmons, chairman of Def Jam Records and Phat Farm Apparel, who received the Humanitarian Award.
The National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ), founded in 1927 as the National Conference for Christians and Jews, is a non-sectarian civic organization established to promote religious, racial and ethnic inclusiveness in American society.
