Research and development is an important facet of Celanese’s commitment to our customers and the industries we support. Our global research and development center is located at the Celanese Frankfurt Technology Center. Besides R&D, Frankfurt also houses our state-of-the-art process development facility where we scale up products to ensure quality and batch-to-batch consistency.

We also have regional technical service laboratories in the three major regions of the world to meet emerging market needs. Besides our technology center in Frankfurt supporting our business in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, we also have regional centers in Houston, Texas to support the Americas and in Shanghai, China to support Asia. Globally, all our facilities have been upgraded recently in both space and equipment representing a sizable investment in the business.

A technology department is defined by its people. Both our R&D and technical service teams are experts in their fields, many with decades of experience. Our technical service staff has in-depth experience in coatings formulation, application development and performance testing. These teams can help you formulate for optimal performance and cost efficiency.
