Dallas, July 25, 2008 – Celanese Acetyl Intermediates today
announced fuel surcharges for all acetyl, solvent and olefin derivative products for North and South
America, Europe, Middle East and Africa effective on August 1, 2008. These surcharges will be US$450
(€300) per truck load and US$900 (€600) per rail car and remain in effect until further notice.
